Assists in coordinating and promoting department marketing programs. 

Incumbents in these positions report to a higher-level department manager and are responsible for assisting in the planning, solicitation, negotiation and implementation of departmental marketing programs. Positions allocable to this class perform assignments which require a familiarity with the laws and principles of public sector marketing. Incumbents must have a broad knowledge of merchandising, project management techniques and sales, principles and practices of business administration and management, and analytical methods and techniques used for problem identification, data gathering data analysis and decision making. Assignments are made in specific terms and objectives are defined. Technical assistance is immediately available, and work is generally reviewed in progress and on completion. This position differs from the Senior Marketing Analyst who is responsible for the department's marketing program. 

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:  

Develops and implements marketing plans for Departmental programs and/or services ensuring collateral following Department Brand Guide and Copy Style Guide.

Acts as Marketing & Communications liaison to Departmental division(s) and provides support to promote programs and/or services.

Collaborates with Departmental staff to implement marketing plans targeted to audience (children, teens, adults, older adults, families, etc.) that would best benefit from the program and/or service.

Negotiates or assists in the negotiations with marketing sponsors in matters relating to sponsorship, donations and licensing of intellectual property.

Prepares or assists in the preparation of marketing data for negotiations, financial consideration and program implementation.

Develops and prepares promotional materials to help promote services, programs, events, and departmental positions, among other promotional opportunities.

Coordinates or assists in coordinating the implementation of marketing programs.
Analyzes or assists in analyzing new marketing programs to determine their appropriateness for the department and recommends programs that are within County marketing guidelines and standards.

Drafts or assists in drafting recommendations to the Board of Supervisors, governmental agencies and officials.

Prepares or assists in the preparation of award, grant and loan applications.

Monitors marketing programs to determine contract compliance.

Plans, manages, and executes assigned duties that are a part of a larger and more complex project in County Marketing, as needed.

Develops, assigns, and manages projects assigned to vendors. Provides clear instructions on deliverables and timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and are on par with the Department's standards
